BZC Mountain Seat

Berkeley Zen Center installed their third, and first female, abbot on March 1st - Rev. Shinchi Linda Gallijan. Berkeley Zen Center  was founded by Rev, Shinshu's and Rev. Daijaku's teacher, Sojun Mel Weisman, roshi and they have deep ties to BZC and a long friendship with the new abbot

It was a wonderful occasion. Rev. Hoitsu Suzuki Shunryu Suzkui's son, came from Japan and the Sokan of Soto Zen North America, Rev. Gengo Akiba, came to support the ceremony. As well as many guests.
